The maximum axial load is the maximum load the table can support when the load is axially applied on the table, pushing against the face of the tabletop. The maximum radial load is the maximum load the table can support when the load is radially applied on the rotation of the table. The table rotation speed is the maximum speed at which the table is designed to rotate. The minimum indexing increment is the minimum degree the table may be indexed.

The drive location can be behind or below the table, top mounted, or side mounted. Top mounted drives are located above the table surface when the table is mounted horizontally. Side mounted drives are located to one side of the table surface when the table is mounted horizontally. Mounting capability for rotary tables can be horizontal, vertical, and inverted. Horizontal mounting allows the table to be mounted so the table surface is upright in the horizontal position. Vertical mounting has the table mounted so the table surface is vertical. With inverted mounting the table can be mounted so the table is upside down in the horizontal position.
